This is a halfling, barely distinguishable from the rest of the wretched Nameless that creep through the Night beneath the Day. He doesn't remember his childhood, or the family on whose behalf he traded away his last remaining name. He earns a living stealing to the surface with whatever containers he can carry and collecting sunlight to sell in the depths of the Labyrinth. In his travels through the Night, he's found a few books of the sort that the Library likes to keep tabs on, and he's taught himself a bit of magic from them. Cordial but cautious, and openly contemptuous of the Inebriate and the Janitors, this particular Labyrinth rat will no doubt shortly find himself in one tight spot too many.
In 4ed terms, this character is a Wizard with the Sneak of Shadows feat.
